How does Sell/Trading work?

How to SELL / TRADE us your items!

WEDNESDAY: 12 PM - 7 PM

THURSDAY: 12 PM - 7 PM

FRIDAY: 12 PM -  7 PM

SATURDAY: 10 AM - 7 PM

SUNDAY: 12 PM - 4 PM​

MONDAYS AND TUESDAYS!

What should I expect when I bring in my items?

 

You will place your items inside the 1-2 blue tote located on the left side of the entrance. Once your items are in the totes, fill out the customer Sell/Trade Contract then proceed to the counter where you will hand off your totes. The processing time for your order may vary from 15 minutes to an hour, depending on our current volume of business. You are welcome to leave the store during this time, and we will notify you via text once your order is ready. Once you Receive your Text, please make your way back to the store. Once you arrive alert staff that you are here for your offer and give them your name. If you are still in the store, we will communicate it to you directly after paging you. Should you accept the offer, we will ask for your signature, then provide you with cash or process your trade in the system.

What We Take For Trade

MOVIES

  • DVD's, Blu-Ray, Laser-Disk,  Video Games must be in their original packaging. We do not accept library or Blockbuster cases. No computer printed sleeves.

  • If it's a DVD/Blu-Ray combo, both discs must be included. 

​

  • Discs must be scratch free and in playable condition.

COLLECTABLES

  • ​Funko Pop! Need to be in good used condition. They can be in or out of box. ​ 

​​

  • Action Figures. Must not be broken and in good condition.​​​​​​​

​  

LEGO

  • Lego. New in the box as well as loose legos. Loose legos needs to be clean. 

​​

  • Lego needs to be weighed for trade. We buy it by the pound

GAMES

  • Board games. Make sure all the pieces that come with the game are with it. 

​​

  • Card games. Make sure that all the cards are with the game and the instructions.

​​

  • Puzzles. Must have all the pieces.

​​​​​​

BOOKS

  • We do not accept Reader's Digest, or library editions of books.

​

  • We do not accept books with any kind of mold, water damage, foxing, or spine damage. 

​

  • We do not accept Political commentary or Christian Living books over 10 years old. 

​

  • We do not take magazines. 

​

  • Audiobooks. Must be original packaging, scratch free.

TOYS

  • Toys. Need to be in good used condition. They can be in or out of box. ​ 

​​​

  • Stuffed Animals. Must be clean and in good condition.

​​​

  • Dolls. Need to be in good used condition. They can be in or out of box. ​ We do not accept Porcelain dolls.

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

POP CULTURE

  • All types. Buttons, Stickers, Clothes, jewelry, Key Chains, Hats, Bags, Backpacks. Must be clean and in good condition.​​​​​​​

​

MUSIC

  • Cassettes, CD's, and Vinyl must be in playable condition. They may have minor scratches; however, trade credit is determined based on condition. 

​

  • Sleeves and booklets cannot be moldy, or water damaged. 

​​​​​

ELECTRONICS

  • DVD/VHS players. Must work and have all components.

​

  • TVs. Must have remotes and be in working condition.

​

  • Speakers. Must have connector wires. Must Work.

​

  • Computers/Laptops. Must have components and cables. Must work.

​

  • Telescopes. Must be in good condition.

​

  • Monitors. Screens must not be scratched and in working condition.

CRAFTS 

  • Yarn, Beads, Craft tools, Etc. Must be in good condition. 

​

  • Diamond art must be in good condtion.

​

  • Craft/Model Kits. Must be in good condition.

How much can I bring in at one time?

 

The blue tote holds about 50 books. At the moment, we have to limit it to two blue totes, per car, per day. If we get too many buys at once, we reserve the right to limit it to ONE tote. You can also bring a mixture of items like, books, movies, music, games, puzzles, Funko Pop!, and more all in one visit. 

How does trade credit work?

At Nickles Used Books & More, trade credit is valid for every item in the store, including our $1 section. There's no minimum purchase required to use your trade credit; it's as good as cash here. Your trade credit issue on a trade slip that we update each time it is used. Customers are responsible for their trade slips, so we ask to please not lose them, as we do not keep that information in our system. Plus, you can always bring in more items to increase your credit at any time.

What do I need in order to trade my items?

 

We ask that you please read the contract on the wall, a copy of which is available below. We will require your name and phone number, ensuring the number you give can receive text messages, as this will be our method of contacting you when your offer is ready. Lastly, we request that you accept your offer or retrieve your items at least one hour before our daily closing time.

Customer Sell/Trade Contract Outline:

​

​Nickles Sell/Trade is designed to provide an opportunity for any Customer to receive; A.) Nickels Store Trade Credit,  or B.) Cash in exchange for approved eligible items. If for whatever reason you are unhappy with your offers, you can decline and receive your items back. When Customers bring their items to Nickles, you will put your items in up to 2 blue totes and fill out the Sell/Trade Contract. What to expect to see on your Contract.

 

1. Eligible Items: By signing the contract, you acknowledge and affirmatively agree to each of the following:

​

1.1 You agree that any item you submit to Nickles is not counterfeit and was obtained legally by you.

​

1.2. You agree that any item submitted follows the Accepted conditions stated below and are eligible for approval by Nickles.

​

1.3. Nickles is not responsible for any loss or damages incurred during receiving and Inspection.

​

1.4 You are limited to 1 Sell/Trade transaction with up to 2 blue tote/bins max, per car, per day. Nickles reserves the right to adjust the recommended limits as needed to ensure all customers can be accommodated during remarkably busy times. Nickles reserves the right to limit incoming quantity from dealers.

Sell/Trade Process:

2.1. Nickles reserves the right to refuse to buy any item, and may respond to your submission of any item by rejecting your offer to sell any or all items submitted for Sell/Trade through Nickles. 

​

2.2. At the conclusion of inspection of Item/s submitted to Nickles. You will be alerted that your offer is ready. When you come to the Sell/Trade desk for your offer, you will be offered a cash and/or a store credit option. The amounts are based on what we will sell your items for. There are some items that we only offer a store credit option for, so even if you request cash, there's a chance you'll still receive a little bit of store credit (also called trade or trade credit). The offer will be given based on eligible/acceptable items. The amount of cash or credit is not negotiable.

2.3. Store Trade Credit will be applied to a Trade Credit Slip. This Slip is given at the time of offer acceptance transaction conclusion. Nickles does not keep Customer Trade Credit information and will not be held responsible for lost or stolen Trade Slips. Trade Credit does not expire and can be used on any items sold by Nickles. Trade Credit can be added to with future trades and updated during each transaction. Once you’ve accepted Trade for your items, that Trade cannot be converted into cash, this is not negotiable.

 

2.4. If you are unhappy with the offer and/or would like to make changes with items submitted, You may decline Nickles' offer. Once declined; all items will be returned to you and you may resubmit your items on another day; Per the 1 Sell/Trade Transaction per day policy.

2.5. Offers must be accepted/transaction completed prior to 1 hr before store closing. Offers/items not completed before that time, become forfeited, items will become the property of Nickles.

​

2.6. Excluded Items will not be accepted and will be returned to you, or disposed of if that option is selected. “Excluded Items” are items that (1) we have reason to believe are counterfeit or stolen, or (2) are not in acceptable condition. 
Customers can choose what they wish to be done with Excluded/Unacceptable Items; such as rejected items Returned to Customer OR  let Nickles Dispose of the items as they see fit.

Our acceptance depends on items we feel reasonably sure we’ll be able to sell. So we evaluate every item individually based on its age, condition, and the supply and demand in our store, which can change frequently. We do our best to accept as many items as possible. 

​

Acceptable condition for books; Means a readable copy. The cover and all pages are intact. Minimal wear to the spine and all pages are firmly attached to the binding. Less than 30% of the book has highlighting/underlining or writing. No substantial damage to the corners, edges, or cover. No fire or smoke damage. No strong odor of any kind. We ask that your books are in acceptable or better condition, so that someone else can enjoy them. 

Acceptable condition for Media; Means an item with minimal wear. Little to no scratches. Where the original packaging is included, but may show minimal wear, holes, or tears.

Acceptable condition for Puzzles/Games/Toys/Electronics means all pieces are intact, toys may be missing original packaging, must be clean, anything battery operated must be in working order and without any erosion. Missing cables or components will affect the offer amount. 

​

After Signing the contract. You will be given a pager (for those staying instore) or we will text (for those that need to leave the store). 

​

After you have been notified that your offer is ready be it by Pager or Text; We ask that you make your way to the checkout counter (or store if you have left.)

​

ALL offers must be either;  Accepted or Declined Prior to Store Closing; on the same day you have brough your items in and signed the contract. (this information is also listed on the contract!)

​

**PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU DO NOT COME BACK TO THE STORE TO COMPLETE YOUR OFFER, YOUR OFFER WILL BE NULLIFIED AND YOUR ITEMS BECOME STORE INVENTORY.**

​

PLEASE BE AWARE WE STOP TAKING IN BUYS ONE HOUR BEFORE CLOSING. 

All of your items must be in a tote and your paperwork signed one hour before we close. Thank you for your understanding.
